Archos 9

This coming Fall Archos is treating us with something that Apple has been putting-off. The Archos 9 is a tablet PC that has a 9-inch touchscreen, powered by an Intel Atom processor, with an 80 GB hard drive, a webcam, Wi-Fi connectivity and speakers. The touchscreen interface will run the new Windows 7. This baby will cost at around $625. Perhaps it will cost more than 40,000 pesos when it hits the Philippines.

It’s a great gadget in such a way that it can be used as an ebook and a netbook. Amazon’s Kindle should better watch out.

iPhone 3G S

Apple just released the newest iPhone called iPhone 3G S, with the ‘S’ which standing for speed. Said to be twice faster than the older generation, the iPhone 3G S sports a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, longer battery life and the new voice command function. The new iPhone will come in 16GB and 32GB variants starting June 19 in the US. For us on this side of the world, there are no news yet as to when Globe’s launch date is. Hopefully we’ll soon get hold of this device here in the Philippines.

New iPod Shuffle

The new 3rd generation iPod shuffle is smaller — and a choking hazard. But seriously this new product from Apple is not that bad, you’d either love it or hate it. At almost half the footprint of its predecessor, the new shuffle has a new feature called VoiceOver that reads the song name. The controls are also new, which was shifted to the right earphone cable. The price of this new iPod Nano for the Philippines is PhP 4160 in the Apple Store Philippines. It comes in silver and black anodized aluminum casing.

Lexon Jet Clock

This clock is a perfect addition to your modern retro pad. It features an LCD screen that displays the date, time, temperature and a snooze feature.

LG Versa

Sometimes a real keyboard is better than touchscreen buttons. Such is the case with the new LG versa that has a removable and re-attachable QWERT keyboard. The versa has accelerometer that allows you to type in landscape mode and to top it, it has a 2 mega pixel camera and a browser supporting macromedia flash - that you can play flash games with. It costs around $200.

Gaping Hole Costume

This picture was posted way too late (or early?) for Halloween. It’s a costume that makes a person seem he’s just been blasted in the middle, hence the gaping hole. It was made with a video camera connected to an LCD screen under a sweater.

Round Sofa

Designer Zhdanova Irina came up with a round sofa bookshelf that can be disassembled into six sections. To keep it from rolling, the whole structure can be blocked up. Cool!

Create Your Own Moss Sculptures

This is a great project you can easily start yourself. You’ll need a can of beer, half teaspoon of sugar and clumps of moss. Put these all in a blender and blend until you achieve a creamy consistency. Brush this goo over a sculpture in a damp side of your garden and keep this area moist for several weeks. The goo will then become moss that will amazingly cover your sculpture.

biUbe Pure

Have you managed to keep your pet goldfish alive for more a month? If not, maybe it’s time to replace your goldfish bowl with the new biUbe Pure aquarium. It features several stages of filters which ensures that the water is kept oxygenated. The LED makes for an awesome display that makes the tank seemingly float in mid-air and changes color tones depending on the time of the day. It is available for £ 146.80 at the biOrb online store.
