Pownce is Closing Shop

Pownce is closing down on December 15. The service, which is comparable to Twitter in terms microblogging was acquired by SixApart. With the shutdown, users are able to transfer their Pownce stuff to other similar services.
Pownce was launched in 2007 by Digg’s Kevin Rose and Leah Culver. It allowed users to share media along with the main microblogging feature.
